Karate Kid The Musical Festival Theatre 23rd June
On paper, this show has everything that you could ask for in a musical adaptation of a popular film. Having the show book written by Robert Mark Kamen, the original writer of the Karate Kid Film (plus Karate Kid films 2, 3, and 5), the very experienced Drew Gasparini as composer/lyricist, and Amon Miyamato directing, should have been the raw ingredients for something very special on stage.

Ballet Black at 25 Festival Theatre Edinburgh 19th  June       
As you would expect from the title of the show, Cassa Pancho’s Ballet Black is celebrating 25 years of creativity and bringing bold and new ballets to stages in the UK and across the world.  Tonight, hope was very much the theme of the evening, but a hope to be strived for under very different circumstances.

Dracula Festival Theatre Edinburgh 12th June      
Dracula as a ballet may be choreographed and designed to appeal to contemporary audiences, but its dance is firmly rooted in classical technique and it is also a fine homage to classics such as "Swan  Lake", "Sleeping Beauty",  and many more.

Sweat Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh 2nd June      
​SWEAT is one of those rare works that I could just go right back into the theatre and watch again, and I know that next time watching it, there would be so many little extra details coming out of this script and these performances that I had missed first time around.
